The Power Hour Strategy — Trading the Last Hour of the Day

r/DaytradingstocksIntraday (last hour)by reddit_community

Trade last hour (3-4 PM ET) when institutions are active. SPY above VWAP = buy strong stocks. SPY below VWAP = short weak stocks. Close at 3:55 PM.

ENTRY RULES

At 3:00 PM ET, check SPY vs VWAP for directional bias | SPY above VWAP: buy stocks with highest intraday relative strength | SPY below VWAP: short stocks with worst intraday performance | Confirm with increasing volume into 3 PM | Only trade on days with clear trend (no choppy action)

EXIT RULES

Close all positions at 3:55 PM — no holding overnight | Take profit if up 1%+ on position before 3:55 | Stop loss at 0.5% below entry | If trade goes against you in first 10 minutes, cut immediately | Maximum 3 positions at once

The Power Hour Strategy — Trading the Last Hour of the Day

Institutional traders make their moves in the last hour (3-4 PM ET). Strategy: if SPY is above VWAP at 3 PM and has been trending up all day, buy calls or shares of the strongest large-cap stocks (highest relative strength that day). If SPY is below VWAP and trending down, short the weakest stocks. The last hour has the most volume and most predictable moves. Close everything at 3:55 PM.
